Introducing Levi Morgan-Your 2011 Male Counselor

Hello everybody! My name is Levi Morgan and I am very thrilled to be a Counselor for the Irish Life Experience this summer. I grew up surrounded by cornfields a few miles outside the small town of Alexis, Illinois. I was an Alexis Cardinal all through my school years. I studied History and Comparative Politics at Knox College in Galesburg, Illionois-graduating in 2007. I had always loved our family trips when I was growing up and in college I was known to take spontaneous weekend road trips to places such as Montana, Tennessee and Quebec. Therefore, immediately after graduation I wanted to go much further than I could drive, so I embarked upon a backpacking tour of England, Wales, Scotland, France and Italy. It was one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my life. When I returned home, I took a job with a railroad with an eventual plan to return to school. In 2009, I got that chance and I returned to Knox to become a teacher. I am now certified and am currently looking for a High School Social Studies classroom to call my own! Growing up in a small Illinois town, I did not have much regular exposure to other cultures, but the people I met in college and while traveling taught me how great it can be to learn and appreciate new ways of living. I am looking forward to meeting you all this summer and experiencing the wonders of Ireland together!
