Introducing Edel Coen-Your 2011 Female Counselor

Hi there! My name is Edel Coen and I am excited to call myself a Counselor for the Irish Life Experience 2011! I was born and raised in Dublin where I developed my passion for international travel and experiences, as well as my love of Irish culture and traditions. During secondary school, I split my time between learning French in France, travelling throughout Europe, and summers spent in the heart of Connemara learning Gaelic. Inspired by watching older siblings travelling the globe, I aspired to experience different cultures myself from a young age. It is this zeal that lead me to earn a dual degree in European Business and International Business from Dublin City University and Northeastern University in Boston. Before leaving my lovely home for the US in 2008, I spent time coaching youth Gaelic Football across the Dublin area and hope to see some of the kids with All Ireland medals one day! While studying in Boston I assisted with the teaching of 11th Grade Food Science in Charlestown High School, a highly rewarding experience and excellent insight into classroom culture from a teacher’s perspective. After gaining experience as Operations Manager for almost a year at Tenon Tours in Stoneham, MA, I will be moving to California in September to work for Enterprise Ireland. I am very excited to meet the ILE group in June and look forward to an unforgettable summer in Ireland together.
