Oscar Wilde Drama Group Steals the Show

On Friday morning at 9:30 AM, the majority of ILE students went to see the new Harry Potter movie at the Liffey Valley Shopping Center across the road. The students loved it! "It was spell binding," said Jenny. Evan added that it was class. Angie and Edel said there was lots of weeping and wailing during the movie-which they both got a good giggle from. "Heart wrenching from start to finish-well worth the wait," to quote Molly Fitz. "Ron Weasley is a ride," said Fi. Skoot said it was amazing to see the new Harry Potter installment during his ILE experience. "It was everything I expected it to be, and much more," said Kelly. After the movie, students had the option of going into Dublin to explore and pick up last minute bits and pieces for souvenirs. "I absolutely love Dublin and don't want to leave," said Sallie. CMoney and Sasha Fierce commented on how lost they got, but were able to find their way back-due to Catherine's prime navigational skills. When they returned, it was all work and no play, as students were busy rehearsing for their final drama presentations. In the evening, we were lucky enough to have two guest judges-Bridie and Martin Coen-Edel's parents. Martin was a soap star for Fair City back in the day, so we were thrilled to have his expertise. He commented on how impressed he was by all of the presentations and said he believes there are some future actors and actresses in the bunch. Angie remarked that the standard was excellent and she couldn't believe how hard all the students had worked. She was amazed. All of the performances were very creative. The best the ILE Staff has ever seen. In the end, there could only be one winner. The decision had been made and it was... Drum roll please... The winner is Oscar Wilde-the team of Kelsey, Raizel, Sasha, and Zoe! CONGRATULATIONS! The Oscar Wilde Group will be going see the Bell X1 Concert in Galway on Saturday, a very special treat. Wonderful job to all of the Drama Groups. They worked very hard this year and it definitely showed. We are so proud of them all and hoped they learned more about Irish history through their special projects.
